What drives the programs and services of NEDA:

  • Nearly 10 million women and one million men in the U.S. suffer from anorexia and bulimia; another 15 million more suffer from binge eating disorder.
  • Anorexia nervosa has the highest premature fatality rate of any mental illness.
  • The majority of people with severe eating disorders do not receive adequate care.
  • Four out of ten Americans either suffered or have known someone who has suffered from an eating disorder.

The National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA), headquartered in Seattle, WA, is a not-for-profit organization advocating prevention, treatment and research funding for eating disorders; expanding public education and awareness; promoting access to quality treatment for those affected; and providing support for their loved ones. With the support from you and other partners, there is hope for eradicating this silent and largely stigmatized illness.

Please join us in the fight against eating disorders. For more information, contact Laura Bayley at lbayley@myneda.org or (206) 382-3587 ext.22 or visit our website: www.Nedawalk.org.
