National Eating Disorders Awareness Week
Eating Disorder Hope is proud to promote the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week, which will take place from February 26th-March 3rd, 2012. “Everybody Knows Somebody” is the theme of this year NEDAwareness Week, developed rightly so as the awareness of eating disorders is extending across the nation and world.
NEDAwareness Week is a cooperative endeavor of eating disorder professionals, health care providers, students, social workers, educators, etc, who are dedicated to raising awareness of the dangers associated with eating disorders and the necessity for prompt intervention and treatment.
NEDAwareness week has ultimately been developed as a way to promote the prevention of eating disorders and body image issues. Additionally, the advocacy of improved access to treatment as well as decreasing the stigma contiguous with eating disorders is endorsed through this event as well.
How can YOU be a part of this important mission?
NEDA is asking everyone to do just one thing to aid in raising awareness about eating disorders. All efforts, no matter how big or small, will be equally important in promoting this! Possible ways to contribute include distributing information pamphlets, post information on Facebook, putting up posters, and MUCH more! Read about more ways you can become involved here.
With the awareness of eating disorders spreading exponentially, the chances that you or someone you love has been affected by an eating disorder are great. Please consider joining the National Eating Disorders Association in the fight against eating disorders by becoming a registered participant for the upcoming NEDAwareness week.
Register today at www.NationalEatingDisorders.org and help raise awareness by doing just one thing!
