Adapting & Expectations

I find that I often cannot control circumstances and this can be S-T-R-E-S-S-F-U-L! I observe many of us folks with a tendency toward eating disordered behavior seem to have a particularly low tolerance for frustration and stress. Hence the eating disordered behaviors becomes an attempt to self soothe. It is actually far more effective to examine our expectations and consider adapting to "what is" rather than "what we expected". I can reframe a frustrating situation by telling myself "I would prefer that............but, I can accept that it is this way for now". Results in a happier person who can live in the moment more fully!
