Does the attire of some of the olympic athletes promote body/weight obsession?

I am particularly troubled by the attire of the womens' beach volleyball teams. It seemed unnecessarily revealing and provocative. Not appropriate for the dignified level of competition these athletes were engaged in. Now, they absolutely have the right to dress any way they like individually, and on their own time, I have no problem with that. My concern arises when I think of many young girls and women viewing these women in such an objectified manner, suggesting their appearance (body tone, weight, thinness) is a remarkable accomplishment along with their athletic ability. It is a shame to distract viewers from the fine athletic competition by fueling the multicultural obsession with appearance and weight.
